Terms and licence
These terms cover buying and using TableScribe, a desktop app for macOS and Windows that records tabletop role-playing sessions and writes transcripts and recaps. TableScribe is made by Mosh Technology AB (org. no. 559345-5479, VAT no. SE559345547901), Spannarp 115, 432 77 Tvååker, Sweden (“we”, “us”). By installing or buying TableScribe you agree to these terms.
1. Who sells it to you
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy, Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to the purchase itself. The licence to use TableScribe comes from us, under these terms.
2. Free trial
You can use TableScribe free for two recording sessions per computer, with every feature. Starting a trial session needs an internet connection. When the trial sessions are used up, you can still open the app and read everything you recorded; starting new recordings needs a licence.
3. Licences
| Licence | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 3-month pass | €6.95 | Use for 90 days from purchase. A one-time payment that does not renew. Buying another pass with the same email adds 90 days to the same licence key. |
| Forever licence | €49.95 | Use with no end date, including updates we release. Buying it with the same email as an active 3-month pass upgrades that key. |
Prices include VAT where it applies; Paddle shows the final price, in your currency where available, before you pay.
Each licence key may be active on two computers at a time. You can move it by deactivating a computer in Settings → License, from any computer that uses the key. The licence is personal to you or your gaming group’s host; please don’t publish or resell keys.
The app checks its licence with our server when it starts a session and at least every 30 days. It keeps working offline in between. If we ever stop running the licence service, we will release an update that removes the check, so forever licences keep working.
4. What you may do
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use TableScribe under the licence you have. You may not copy TableScribe for others, remove or work around the licence check, or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law gives you that right regardless of these terms.
5. Recording other people
TableScribe records what people say. You are responsible for telling everyone in the session that it is recorded and transcribed, and for getting their agreement, and for following the laws that apply where you and they are. Don’t use TableScribe to record people who haven’t agreed. The recordings, transcripts and recaps you make are yours; they stay on your computer and we never receive them.
6. Third-party parts
TableScribe uses third-party software and models, such as whisper.cpp, KB-Whisper, Ollama and the language models you choose to download. They have their own licences, which you also need to follow. If you turn on cloud transcription, your audio goes to the service you choose, under that service’s terms. Using TableScribe with Discord means Discord’s terms apply to your bot and your server.
7. Updates and changes
TableScribe updates itself in the background and never restarts during a recording. Features may change over time. If we make a change that takes away something important you paid for, you may ask for a refund.
8. Warranty and liability
We work hard to make TableScribe reliable, but speech recognition and language models make mistakes: a transcript or recap can be incomplete or wrong. TableScribe is provided as it is, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost recordings or data. Back up anything you can’t lose. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law, or our liability where it can’t be limited by law.
9. Refunds
See our refund policy. In short: a full refund within 14 days, no questions asked.
10. Ending the licence
A refunded or charged-back purchase ends the licence it paid for. If you break these terms in a serious way, for example by sharing keys publicly, we may deactivate the key.
11. Law and disputes
Swedish law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in. Please contact us first if something is wrong; we want to fix it. Consumers in Sweden can also turn to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN).
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applied when you bought keeps applying to that purchase, unless a change is only to your benefit.
